Stern (シュテルン, Shuterun) is a weapon seen in Suikoden II and Genso Suikogaiden Vol.1. It is a gun of the Howling Voice Guild.
Information
Stern was one of the ceremonial guns used in formal duels between gunners. The weapon was named after the stars, and stood for trust. It was said to be inhabitated by a 'spirit'. Like its counterpart, Mond, Stern was a pistol.
Stern was the gun that Elza chose during her duel with Kelley, resulting in his death, as per the Howling Voice Guild's plotting. After this both Mond and Stern would be wielded by her as she became a fugitive.
For a brief moment, both Mond and Stern would end up in the hero's possession in Muse City when Elza gave him the guns, hidden in a package, in an attempt to evade the pursuit of Clive. After Elza's death, the guns would be returned by Clive to the Howling Voice Guild.
Trivia
- Stern is the German word for "star" and in some portions of Suikoden II is localized as such.
