Pilika (ピリカ, Pirika) is a supporting character in Suikoden II. Pilika is a young girl from Toto Village who gets swept up in the events of the Dunan Unification War.
History
|
Pilika was the young girl who found Jowy Atreides after he had become separated from his best friend following their jump into the Tenzan Pass ravine. It would be Pilika and her parents who would care for Jowy as he recuperated in Toto Village. She was a honest and cheerful child.
Even after the death of her parents in Luca Blight's razing of Toto, Pilika was able to maintain her spirits thanks to the efforts of Jowy, whom she had come to seen as a parental figure in her life, calling him "Uncle Jowy". Through her selfless affection, she gave Jowy the loving family he never experienced growing up.
However, having Luca move to kill her amidst the blazing Mercenary Fortress was too traumatic and Pilika would be stricken with a form of aphasia for some time afterwards. Upon her arrival in Muse City, she would be seperated from Nanami and Jowy briefly but would be found and reunited with her carers by Nash Latkje. She would continue to be cared for by Nanami and the hero following the fall of Muse City and Jowy's subsequent defection to the Highland Army.
Late in the Dunan Unification War, Pilika would begin to speak again after reuniting with Jowy in Muse City but it would take more time than had passed for her mind to fully recover from the emotional trauma. Though Jowy was by this point the ruler of the Highland Kingdom, to Pilika he was still the kindly "Uncle Jowy".
Once the fall of the Highland Kingdom was evident, Pilika did not want to be seperated from Jowy again but nonetheless did not fight against his decision to send her away. She did, however, have one last request - to be lifted up and held as her father used to do. Following this emotional farewell, she was sent with Jillia to live a secluded life in a rural area of the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. There, she awaits the return of her Uncle Jowy.
