Billy (ビリー, Birī) is a supporting character in Suikoden III. He is a self-described treasure hunter whose talents seem to lie more in burglary and gambling.
History

Billy was a treasure hunter and the oft-absent father of Melville.
Always filled with a great wanderlust, Billy once worked on a farm to earn money for his travels. Billy fell in love with the farmer's daughter, but eventually left her to continue his wanderings. Unbeknownst to Billy, this woman was pregnant with Billy's child, who would grow up to be Kathy.
Years later, he would marry another woman in Vinay del Zexay and father Melville. In the Dunan Republic, he would stay at the White Deer Inn, meeting Alex there. He was so impressed with Alex's stories that he too took up the mantle of treasure hunter.
After losing his home due to large gambling debts owed to Shilo (who likely cheated him), his wife left him. At a loss, and raising his son alone, he was able to rent a cheap room from Elliot's mother. He continued his treasure hunting dreams since then, disappearing for great lengths of time.
He was briefly reunited with Melville during the War of the Champions when he agreed to join the Fire Bringer after being caught attempting to steal antiques from Budehuc Castle. Although he encountered Kathy at Budehuc Castle, neither was aware of their relationship.
Following the war, he was dragged back to Vinay del Zexay by Melville.
