Etymology
A hellhound is a supernatural dog, found in folklore. Features commonly attributed to hellhounds in many cultures include black fur, glowing eyes, super strength or speed and sometimes even the ability to talk.
Jackals, meanwhile, are a type of wolf most common in Africa. They are sometimes depicted as clever sorcerers in myths and were among the first creatures created according to the Serer religion in Senegal.
