Lumberjack Knot

Suikoden II mini-game

Lumberjack Knot (きこりの結び目, Kikori no Musubime), commonly referred to as the "rope-climbing game", is a mini-game that appears in Suikoden II.

Information

This was one of the games played at the New State Army Headquarters. The winner was the one who reached the top of the cliff the fastest. Winners of the game received various items and equipment as prizes.

A popular game that both required physical strength and bravery, timing and patience were both very important to securing victory.

Rules

The goal of the game is to reach the top of the cliff by climbing the rope before the three other players. A potch fee is required to play and different prizes are available depending on the fee placed and the position finished in.

On the player's turn they can either roll the die or tie a knot, which acts as a slide stopper. When rolling the die, any number from 2 to 6 will result in the player climbing that number of spaces. If the player rolls a 1, however, they slide down to the last knot they tied.
