Dragon horses (竜馬, Ryōma) are a type of creature that appear in Suikoden V. They are the chosen mounts of the Feitas Dragon Cavalry.
Information
Dragon horses are land-dwelling creatures with a lizard-like body and horns as well as bird-like wings. They are adept at water combat, as their movements do not slow down on water allowing them to move as freely as they can on land. Their special ear structure allows dragon horses to detect sound waves that cannot be detected by the human ear. This, combined with their ability to send various instructions with their special whistle, allowed them to act without being noticed by their enemies.
Seemingly unique to the southeastern reaches of the Queendom of Falena, the Feitas Dragon Cavalry, based at Sauronix Castle, raised dragon horses. It is said that their eggs only grow in nests located in Gordius, the training ground for apprentice dragon horse riders. Dragon horses named by the cavalry are usually associated with a weapon, such as a lance, axe, or flail.
In the past, Nagarea decreed that dragon horses were an abomination, sparking an invasion of the region in c.SY 360.
