What is Gensopedia?
Gensopedia is a free encyclopedia, dedicated to covering the Suikoden series, a video game RPG series published by Konami. Running on Wikimedia software, Gensopedia is being edited and updated constantly, with all of these changes being recorded in article histories and recent changes.
How you can contribute
Attempting to a create a solid, sourced encyclopedia free of much of the rumor and half-remembered facts that accompany any fandom is an arduous task.
This is why we are always looking for people able to improve and better Gensopedia, be it through articles, spelling, grammar, rewriting for readability or adding content. If you wish to add new facts, please try to provide references so they may be verified, or suggest them on the article's discussion page.
Localized and Japanese Terms
Gensopedia's policy is to broadly use official localized terms whenever possible. For non-localized characters and locations, reasonable attempts at fan localization have been made.
For games and other such official releases with no licensed localization, the Genso prefix is always used (e.g., Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki rather than Suikoden: Woven Web of the Centuries, the Genso Suikoden Encyclopaedia rather than Suikoden Encyclopedia, etc.) when applicable. This also serves as an immediate shorthand to know whether a work has been officially localized.
This extends to subtitles. As an example, Genso Suikogaiden Vol.1 is referred to on Gensopedia as "Harmonia no Kenshi", rather than "Swordsman of Harmonia" (the popular and perfectly accurate fan localization) or "Harumonia no Kenshi" (the word ハルモニア already having an official localization).
