Yod (ヤード, Yādo) is a character in Suikoden Tierkreis. Yod is a doll, designed by the inventor Balsam.

Biography

Yod was a doll made by the inventor Balsam, who preferred the term "mage mimic" for his creation. They worked as Balsam's assistant and served him faithfully, both in his workshop and in traveling to other worlds to find new inventions.

Like a human, Yod possessed both will and emotion, and reacted in a normal fashion when surprised or scared. Similar to Balsam's other inventions, Yod was powered by Units.

Yod joined the Company along with Balsam and assisted their master at Company Headquarters. They respected Zayin, an advanced robot from the world of the Chronicle of Resonant Horror, as something of an aspirational 'Precursor'.

Following the war, with Balsam continuing to tinker with and learn from Zayin, Yod would try and tell Balsam he wanted to look more like Zayin. Balsam never seemed to listen, however.

Trivia

  • The term used in Japanese for what Yod is (カラクリ, Karukuri) is the same word used to describe the dolls and abilities of the Tricksters throughout the Suikoden series.
