The Barows Faction (バロウズ派, Barōzu-ha) was one of two major political groups in the Queendom of Falena during Suikoden V.
Information
The Barows faction was one of two major political bodies that made up the political make-up of the Queendom of Falena. Centered around the Barows family of Rainwall, the body is made up of eastern nobles. In comparison to the Godwin Faction, the Barows faction is more moderate, seeking to live in harmony with Falena's neighbors. However, this can sometimes take the form of self-serving schemes that would only benefit immediate members of the faction.
During the Sun Rune War, Salum Barows attempted to convince the Prince of Falena to establish a kingdom in opposition to the Godwin regime in Sol-Falena, a plot that would have ended with the Barows' lands become an New Armes Kingdom vassal state. The Barows Faction was also responsible for the theft of the Dawn Rune from the East Palace during the Lordlake Uprising, cementing their reputation as duplicitous manipulators when their deeds were revealed.
Following the war, Luserina and Euram Barows gave up their noble titles and used the Barows wealth to fund the reconstruction of the Queendom of Falena, in order to atone for their father's misdeeds.
